Product Information

Osteoarthritis knee pain can reduce mobility and lead to a less active lifestyle. Purchase Euflexxa from Medical Device Source to provide an alternative treatment for osteoarthritis knee pain. Euflexxa is an injectable medical device made from sodium hyaluronate gel, similar to what is found in the synovial fluid of the knee. Some patients find that their exercise, physiotherapy, and pain medication such as acetaminophen, ibuprophen, and naproxen can no longer effectively manage their osteoarthritis pain in their knee. For these patients, Euflexxa can provide relief. Knee osteoarthritis occurs when the cartilage in the knee begins to break down, and the synovial fluid becomes thinner, reducing the natural cushioning effect of the knee and resulting in knee pain. When you inject Euflexxa into the space in the knee joint, the sodium hyaluronate solution provides lubrication to the knee joint as well as acting as a shock absorber as the patient moves. This can reduce knee pain as well as increasing mobility.

Most Euflexxa patients experience only mild side effects, but some common Euflexxa side effects could include a temporary achy feeling; mild swelling, warmth, stiffness, or pain in or around the knee; back pain; muscle or joint pain; or mild pain, bruising, or redness at the injection site. Some more severe Euflexxa side effects could include severe swelling and pain in the joint; severe headache or dizziness; and a severe allergic reaction including swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue and chest tightness. Your patients should avoid strenuous physical activities such as jogging, tennis, heavy lifting, or standing for more than an hour for at least forty-eight hours after a Euflexxa injection. Do not inject Euflexxa where there is an infection or skin disease or into patients who have had a previous reaction to hyaluronan products. You should not treat patients with Euflexxa who are pregnant, nursing, or under eighteen years of age. Since the sodium hyaluronate in Euflexxa does not come from rooster combs, it is safer for your patients who are allergic to eggs, birds, or feathers.

To treat osteoarthritis, inject Euflexxa once a week for three weeks. Some patients may need all three Euflexxa injections to notice relief from their osteoarthritis pain, although some patients will find relief after the first or second treatment session. Even if they do get relief from their osteoarthritis knee pain after one or two treatments, they should still receive all three treatments. The results of a Euflexxa injection can last up to six months, and at that time your patients can return for a new round of Euflexxa treatments. You can use Euflexxa in combination with other osteoarthritis treatments or to replace other treatments that have become ineffective. Euflexxa can replace synovial fluid in the knee that has become thin with age, and provide shock absorption when the cartilage has broken down. Purchase Euflexxa from Medical Device Source to give your patients relief from their osteoarthritis knee pain.
