Product Information

Osteoarthritis involves the breakdown of cartilage and synovial fluid in the joints. Purchase Durolane from Medical Device Source to replace synovial fluid in the knee, hip, or other joint. Durolane is an injectable medical device made of a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel which is highly purified and in a high concentration. The NASHA in Durolane does not come from animal sources, it is instead produced by bacterial fermentation, giving it a low risk of impurities and making it safe for those with avian allergies. The Durolane formula is more resistant to breaking down within the body than other brands of hyaluronic acid injections, so only a single injection into the joint is needed to give relief from osteoarthritis pain. Durolane works by replacing synovial fluid that has broken down within the joints as the osteoarthritis gets progressively worse. The viscoelastic hyaluronic acid formula helps to provide lubrication in the joints as well as a liquid cushion, preventing bones from rubbing together within the joint as the patient moves. This can reduce the pain and inflammation the patient would otherwise experience for about three to six months. Durolane is suitable as a replacement for, or in addition to, other osteoarthritis treatments such as exercise, physical therapy, and pain medications. As these osteoarthritis therapies gradually become less effective for controlling osteoarthritis pain, Durolane can help bring relief to your patients.

Injections of medical devices containing hyaluronic acid, such as Durolane, could cause some side effects such as joint pain, swelling, stiffness, or pain at the injection site. These Durolane side effects are generally mild and do not last long. Clinical trials for Durolane have not shown hypersensitivity, allergic reactions, or acute inflammatory reactions. You should not inject patients with Durolane who have a skin disease or infection at the injection site. The safety of Durolane for women who are pregnant or nursing, or for children, has not been evaluated. The procedure may take about ten to fifteen minutes and does not need to be repeated weekly.

When your patient suffers from osteoarthritis in the knee, hip, or other joint, they may want or need an alternative treatment when their physiotherapy or pain medication has stopped helping. When you inject Durolane into your patient's joint, you can help ease their pain and suffering and give them back their ability to move around and go about their lives pain-free. While other brands of hyaluronic acid injections require three to five weekly injections to give your patients osteoarthritis relief, Durolane just needs one injection. This means more convenience for your patient and quicker relief from their osteoarthritis symptoms. Your patient could continue to enjoy their freedom from osteoarthritis symptoms for about three to six months after a Durolane injection. Purchase Durolane from Medical Device Source to give your patients relief from osteoarthritis pain with just one injection.
